The Oakland A's are featured in an upcoming movie starring Brad Pitt as A's General Manager Billy Beane. The movie dramatizes the GM's entrance into the A's and specifically looks into the successful 2003 A's season.

The movie is named after the book it is based on, Moneyball, and shows how Beane used sabermetric techniques to build a winning team on a low payroll.

The book Moneyball was revolutionary in baseball in its own right, as it opened the eyes of teams around the league to not only rely on scouts, but to use statistics in evaluating player talent.

Jonah Hill is also in the movie playing a fictional character based on NY Mets' Paul DePodesta, who worked with Beane starting from 1999.
