Bianca La Russa, the daughter of St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa, has tweeted that she has stopped dancing with the Oakland Raiders cheerleading squad because of injuries.

I've had to stop dancing with the Raiderettes, due to degenerative disc disease & multiple bulging/herniated discs...so frustrating, she tweeted on Thursday. On the positive side, at this point I don't need surgery...just lots of physical therapy and many check-ups with my orthopedic specialist.

Bianca La Russa became a Raiderette in April.

Cheerleading one of teh most dangerous sports around. Last January, ABC News reported that emergency room visits because of cheerleading increased almost sixfold over the past 30 years. There were nearly 30,000 injuries in 2008, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
