The Occupy Wall Street movement has captivated the country since it began. For nearly two months, protesters encamped in public parks throughout the nation in order to protest ecnomic inequality.

Some protests, such as in Oakland, became violent, with Occupiers, being injured.

For the past week, cities in the United States have been cracking down against protesters trying to remove them for their encampments.

Early Tuesday morning, the Bloomberg administration and the New York Police Department removed the protesters from Zuccotti Park.  The police department was met with some resistance; however, they were able to keep the Occupiers out.

Here is a look back on some of the images of the movement during the past eight weeks.
