Olivia Munn is going from a fast-paced newsroom to a “sexy, charming” girlfriend as the love interest of Nick on “New Girl.”

Munn, who has played Sloan Sibbith, an economist with her own show on HBO’s “The Newsroom” for 10 episodes, will now appear on the Fox sitcom “New Girl” as the girlfriend of bartender Nick (Jake Johnson,) who is roommates with Jess (Zooey Deschanel), Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Winston (Lamorne Morris.)

As reported by Deadline, Munn, 32, will have a guest role on “New Girl” as Angie, described as a girlfriend who is “sexy, charming and can hold her own with the group.”

It’s unclear how many episodes Munn is signed on for inh “New Girl.” Episodes of the Fox sitcom featuring the actress and former “Attack of the Show” host are expected to start airing in November, according to Access Hollywood.
