Olivia Wilde ALS Ice Bucket Challenge: Star Pours Breast Milk On Her Head [VIDEO]

Olivia Wilde participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge, but did it with her own twist: The former “House” star doused herself in icy breast milk to bring awareness to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, the lethal neurodegenerative disorder also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

"I hope it's OK. I couldn't find any water so I'm going to use breast milk," the breastfeeding advocate teased in the clip, which was posted to YouTube by fiancé Jason Sudeikis. "It took me all night to make this."

Wilde, 30, lifted a giant bucket of milk and poured it on her head as she stood on the roof of an NYC apartment building. The new mother challenged New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, longtime women's rights advocate Gloria Steinem and Prince. She dedicated her challenge to her friend Scott Lew.

The actress, who shares her 4-month-old baby boy Otis with Sudeikis, posed for the September issue of Glamour magazine breastfeeding her son.

"Being shot with Otis is so perfect because any portrait of me right now isn’t complete without my identity as a mother being a part of that," Wilde said in the magazine. "Breastfeeding is the most natural thing."

The Ice Bucket Challenge has turned into a viral sensation that has raised millions of dollars. On Sunday, the ALS Association said more than $70 million has been donated in one month, compared to the $2.4 million raised during the same period last year. The social media sensation has helped bring in 1.3 million new donors, the association said.

Some of Hollywood’s best have participated in the charity. Actor Charlie Sheen made waves when he dumped $10,000 in cash over his head, “Nashville” star Hayden Panettiere confirmed her pregnancy, “Girls” star Lena Dunham said she was “honored” she was nominated and Lady Gaga remained silent as she poured ice water over head.
