Lolo Jones, an Olympic hurdler, believes that her still-intact virginity has made it difficult for her to find a suitable boyfriend.

It's just something, a gift that I want to give to my husband, Jones told HBO's Real Sports. But please, understand, this journey has been hard.

If there's virgins out there, I'm going to let them know, it's the hardest thing I've ever done in my life - harder than training for the Olympics, harder than graduating from college, has been to stay a virgin before marriage.

Jones, who finished seventh in women's 100-meter hurdles at the 2008 Olympics, has used social media platforms and online dating services to meet a potential boyfriend, but thus far hasn't found the right match.

Earlier this year the 29-year-old Olympic athlete announced on Twitter that she is still a virgin because guys deuce out when I won't put out. I do so to honor God & future husband. Even with her resolve, she admits that it's been tempting to have sex.

I've been tempted, Jones said in the HBO piece. I've had guys tell me, 'You know, if you have sex, it will help you run faster.'

I do want this medal, but not that bad. Not yet....if you marry me, then yeah.

In the wide-ranging interview, Jones also admits that she was a professional shoplifter as a youth. She says that she was shoplifting frozen dinners at local grocery stores in order to supplement the meager meals her family was able to afford. She and her family lived in a Salvation Army basement for part of her youth.

She is currently training for the 2012 Olympics trials in June in Eugene, Ore.
