OnePlus is revealing some new features of the OnePlus 2 before its release. The most recent revelation by the Chinese firm is that its next flagship will sport a USB Type-C connectivity port.

According to the official Google+ post from OnePlus, the news about the USB Type-C connectivity feature for OnePlus 2 is the second confirmed feature. It boasts that the OnePlus 2 will be first smartphone to arrive with the new USB port.

NDTV states that the USB Type-C port supports high-speed data transfer speeds of 10 Gbps. Rumors have it that the upcoming Galaxy Note 5 will also be featuring the new USB Type-C port.

Last week, OnePlus confirmed that the OnePlus 2 will be featuring the improved version of the Snapdragon 810 chipset. The official forum post claims that the new flagship will come with Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC that houses a 64-bit octa-core processor. It claims the new processor will deliver desktop-like performance on the handset.

Snapdragon 810 has been infamous for its thermal overheating problems. However, OnePlus claims that the improved edition of the processor on the OnePlus 2 handset will not have such a problem. Qualcomm has placed thermal gel and graphite on the processors of the chipset that help dissipate heat.

The OxygenOS will be the official operating system that will arrive on the OnePlus 2 flagship. It states that the software has been optimized to function smoothly with the Snapdragon 810 chipset. It further explains that the ROM on the OnePlus 2 will be able to determine which processor should be used for gaming and for carrying out simpler tasks.
