OnePlus 3 is the new flagship killer from the Chinese tech titan OnePlus. Following OnePlus 2’s unimpressive debut and the lukewarm response to OnePlus X, the company is believed to be banking on the new flagship. Not to forget, OnePlus got rid of the infamous invite-only purchase model for good to woo potential buyers.

Meanwhile, the Huawei-built Google Nexus 6P has been one of the top phones released towards the end of 2015 with top-of-the-shelf configurations and stunning design onboard. Now, it’s time to compare the two handsets based on specs, price, design and features.

OnePlus 3 vs. Nexus 6P: Display, Design

The OnePlus 3 features a 5.5-inch display and 1,080 x 1,920 pixels Full HD resolution, whereas the Nexus 6P flaunts a 5.7-inch screen bundled with 1,440 x 2,560 pixels QHD resolution. This translates to a pixel density of 518 ppi for the Nexus device and 401 ppi for the OnePlus handset. The general rule is that higher pixel density guarantees impressive viewing experience.

Speaking of design, the OnePlus 3 looks similar to the HTC 10 in more than one way. Starting from the unibody design, large camera sensor located in the middle, to the antenna lines at the back, the overall look is very familiar. Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4 panel protects the screen. The phone body is made of anodized aluminium and it looks much better than the predecessor with curved edge design, Trusted Reviews reported.

About Nexus 6P, Google has opted to go with the much-preferred full metal chassis. The device features chamfered edges and the display is protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4 panel. To give a sleek look, the odd antenna bands have been covered up in an aesthetic way and the rear is slightly curved, which makes it easier to hold, according to Trusted Reviews.

OnePlus 3 vs. Nexus 6P: Under The Hood

While the Nexus handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 SoC, the OnePlus 3 utilizes the latest Snapdragon 820 chipset. The OnePlus 3 comes backed by a whopping 6GB of RAM, although it is debatable if this device will be able to make full use of the overabundant RAM. The Nexus 6P, meanwhile, comes with 3GB of RAM.

Speaking of memory configuration, while the Nexus 6P comes equipped with 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB of native storage options with no microSD card support, the OnePlus 3 has 64GB of storage onboard with no expansion capacity.

OnePlus 3 vs. Nexus 6P: Camera, Battery

OnePlus 3 makes use of a solid 16-megapixel sensor with LED flash and OIS support, whereas the Nexus 6P carries a 12.3-megapixel rear-facing camera unit and a dual-LED flash. In addition, there is a generous 8-megapixel selfie-clicker in both handsets.

When it comes to battery capacity, the OnePlus handset houses a non-removable Li-Ion 3,000 mAh cell, whereas the Google device features a much-better Li-Po 3,450 mAh non-removable cell.

Other key common features include support for fast charging, fingerprint scanner and Type-C 1.0 reversible connector.

OnePlus 3 vs. Nexus 6P: Price

The 64GB OnePlus 3 will set the buyers back by $399. The 32GB variant of the Nexus 6P, on the other hand, can be purchased for $429 via Amazon.
