After OnePlus disclosed the price of its upcoming OnePlus 2 smartphone, the Chinese tech company revealed its 4 GB RAM configuration. And now, OnePlus has revealed even more details about the device via Reddit.

Some OnePlus employees reportedly sat down for a Reddit "Ask Me Anything" session on Thursday. During the session, the team revealed key details about the OnePlus 2. The session seemingly started with an interesting image. According to the team, it shows a OnePlus One smartphone. However, there apparently is OnePlus 2 beneath the wooden back case-clad predecessor. This clearly shows that the upcoming device will be smaller than the OnePlus One, notes GSM Arena.

The team also confirmed the battery unit of the OnePlus 2 -- i.e., a cool 3,300 mAh capacity. In comparison, the OnePlus One comes with a 3,100 mAh battery unit. In addition, the team also acknowledged that the handset’s camera unit is a prioritized area.

The tech team also confirmed that the OnePlus 2 will not come with a heart-rate monitor. The team also put to rest a rumor that a fingerprint scanner would be built into the touchscreen. Instead, the scanner will be a separate physical sensor, as seen in Apple iPhones and Samsung Galaxy S series handsets.

Potential buyers need an invitation to purchase the OnePlus 2, just as they did with the predecessor. But they should note that OnePlus has reportedly improved the invitation system this time around. In addition, early adopters of OnePlus One will be the first to receive invitation cards for OnePlus 2.

The OnePlus 2 will be released in three models -- A2001, A2003 and A2005. One model will be exclusive to China, whereas the other two models will hit international shores. This means one of the two will reach North America, while the other variant will be destined for Europe and Asia. The main difference between the models is the support for different network bands, notes GSM Arena.

The North American variant will work on “GSM 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz, along with WCDMA bands 1/2/4/5/8, and FDD-LTE bands 1/2/4/5/7/8/12/17.” Meanwhile, the European/Asian variants will reportedly support “GSM 850, 900, 1800 and 1900MHz, along with WCDMA bands 1/2/5/8 and FDD-LTE bands 1/3/5/7/8/20.”

The OnePlus 2 will be unveiled July 27 and will be priced less than $450.
