OnePlus is rumored to announce a new flagship smartphone next month and now it looks like there’s a specific timeframe for its release date. A new rumor suggest that the rumored OnePlus 5T will be announced in late November, specifically sometime after Nov. 20.

The information on the OnePlus 5T release date was shared by often reliable leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks) on Twitter. Blass first expressed skepticism on the existence of the new OnePlus smartphone, but later changed his tune when one of his “reliable” sources claimed that it will indeed arrive by the end of November. His source also said that the OnePlus 5T will have an 18:9 aspect ratio for its display.

A couple of hours after tweeting the end of November launch for the OnePlus 5T, Blass shared a more specific timeframe for when the device might be announced. According to another one of Blass’s reliable sources, the OnePlus 5T will be announced sometime after Nov. 20.

Android Authority shared a teaser image of the upcoming new version of the OnePlus 5 handset and it did show that it will have very slim bezels. The tech website said that the teaser image was acquired from “a trusted source.” Unfortunately, it’s quite difficult to see in the photo if the handset will indeed have an 18:9 aspect ratio for its display.

For those who may have already forgotten, the OnePlus 5 was announced back on June 20, and it went on sale one week later on June 27. If the OnePlus 5T is going to be announced sometime after Nov. 20, it’s possible that it might be announced on Nov. 27 with sales commencing a week later on Dec. 4. Best case scenario here would be if sales would commence the same day it’s officially announced, but that’s just speculation for now.

The OnePlus 5T will be the second time that OnePlus releases an upgraded “T” model. The OnePlus 3T was also announced in November last year and it seems to make sense that the 5T would be announced at around the same time this year.

The OnePlus 5T is expected to be a major redesign with some minor bump in specs. The smartphone was spotted yesterday on the AnTuTu benchmark with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The handset is also listed as having 8GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. Interestingly, there’s no listing of a 6GB RAM model with 64GB of storage, possibly hinting that OnePlus may possibly be dropping the option for this model.

The AnTuTu benchmark also revealed that the OnePlus 5T will have a slightly larger 3,450mAh battery. Considering that the handset has a larger display, this battery upgrade seems to make sense. Also, the OnePlus 3T had a larger battery than the original OnePlus 3.

Another spec bump that was spotted on the AnTuTu benchmark is with the OnePlus 5T’s cameras. Apparently, the upcoming handset will have a pair of 20-megapixel cameras on the back instead of 16-megapixel sensors that are found on the OnePlus 5.

The spec sheet of the new OnePlus Android flagship also shows a 2,160 x 1,080 screen resolution, which once again reaffirms the 18:9 aspect ratio. Lastly, the phone will supposedly run Android 8.0 Oreo straight out of the box.
