‘Orange Is The New Black’
What will happen to Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren in “Orange is the New Black” Season 6? Netflix

Orange is the New Black” star Uzo Aduba recently opened up about her most challenging scenes in Season 5 as Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren.

While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the award-winning actress revealed that one of the most memorable scenes she did was in episode 10. At the time, Suzanne delivered an impactful monologue in front of a mirror after washing her face.

“That one rated fairly high. As Uzo the person, I physically felt ill with that makeup on and everything that she was experiencing and what I know many young women are experiencing out in the world. That felt heavy and caked on and frustrating, annoying and sickening to have that makeup on. And then it also felt so essential to play,” she said.

The second one on her list of most challenging scenes was Suzanne going to the cafeteria for the first time since Poussey’s (Samira Wiley) death. According to Aduba, showrunner Jenji Kohan did not give her any lines to throw in that moment, but she just started talking as her character. “Just conjuring this spirit that was gone, lost and trying to sort of make sense of something that she doesn’t know how to make sense of,” she explained.

Meanwhile, Aduba also shared some of her hopes for Season 6. The actress said that Season 5 marked the first time that all the inmates of Litchfield prison came together to seek justice for Poussey. Throughout the past couple of seasons, the inmates had always grouped themselves based on different categories, but in Season 5, everyone became united.

“Jenji is stepping us into a world we have yet to see in this land of Litchfield moving forward and I’m interested to see how Suzanne survives in the new world. It almost feels like we’re setting sail,” she said.

Unfortunately, the cast of the hit Netflix original series are still in the dark when it comes to Season 6. Danielle Brooks recently told Variety that they are not told anything up until the table read. “So I’m just going on the journey will all the fans, too. No clue,” she said.
