The Originals Season 1 finale
Will Klaus and Hayley's baby survive the Season 1 finale of "The Originals"? Bob Mahoney/The CW

Hey, “Originals” fans, it’s time to break out the pink streamers and start preparing for the birth of Klaus and Hayley’s newborn baby – we know they are. Just check out how Phoebe Tonkin is bracing herself for her character’s big birthing scene here! But that’s not the only drama expected to go down in the Season 1 finale. According to reports, fans of the hit CW show should expect a lot of jaw-dropping moments in episode 22 when “From a Cradle to a Grave” airs next Tuesday at 8 p.m. EDT.

The plot is said to revolve around the storyline of a “mother and child in peril.” So, is it safe to assume the synopsis of episode 22 is referring to the troubles Hayley and her daughter face? We mean, just take a gander at the chilling headline! “From Cradle to Grave” – talk about dark.

“As the baby’s due date draws near, Niklaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies)” will embark on a search for Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), the summary suggests. But according to the synopsis, “Hayley herself is determined to do whatever it takes to keep her unborn baby safe and away from witches.” See, Hayley was kidnapped by witches and brought to a church, where she eventually went into labor. As she screamed, Genevieve, Monique and the rest of the coven tried to soothe her by telling the soon-to-be-mother that they wanted to sacrifice her child to be reborn. Does that mean Hayley finds a way to escape mid-labor? We just hope Klaus gets to his baby momma before the witches snatch their child.

Guest star Peta Sargent takes on the role of Francesca during the Season 1 finale and reportedly will hold a meeting with Chase Coleman and Nathan Parson’s characters Oliver and Jackson. The three will determine the future of the werewolves in New Orleans.

The finale episode of Season 1 also suggests that “in the aftermath of a surprising attack on Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) and his vampires at the compound, Davina (Danielle Campbell) and Cami (Leah Pipes) join resources to take down Klaus.” C’mon, as if this guy didn’t have enough going on in his life with Hayley giving birth to his baby that a bunch of witches want to sacrifice, now he has this on his paws?

“Finally, in a desperate move to protect those most important to him, Klaus makes a heartbreaking decision,” the synopsis concludes. Is this suggesting Klaus will sacrifice the life of his daughter for the sake of Hayley? We ask this because in a previous report we learned that Tammy Smith Casting company was specifically seeking out newborn baby girls to appear in the CW drama for scenes that would only take place on the day Hayley’s child was born. Now, this could either mean Season 2 will jump into the future where the child will age significantly – or the baby will be killed.
