The 5-0 is headed to New Orleans. And according to reports, the detective, set to make his authoritative debut in Season 3 of “The Originals,” will be none other than Jason Dohring.

Yes, that’s right -- the “Veronica Mars” alum, known for his portrayal of Logan Echolls, will be saying sayonara to the crime-ridden town of Neptune and “hello” to a new corrupted home in the upcoming installment of the hit CW series as Detective Will Kinney. New episodes starring Dohring will begin airing on Thursday nights this fall.

Not only will Dohring’s recurring character come face to face (or should we say face to fang) with some villainous foes, he’ll also try to put an end to their crooked ways as the “good-natured” and “determined” officer he is. Will has been described as a “smart and confident” character with a very firm understanding of what’s right and what’s wrong. But will his definition of good and evil change when he uncovers the twisted and supernatural secrets behind the bustling Louisiana city?

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that although Will doesn’t have a full grasp on the mystical drama going on in in the French Quarter, he does have a “strong suspicion” that something strange is brewing in the jazzy city of New Orleans. It’s just a matter of time before he uncovers the blood-soaked scandals.

Will won’t be the only new character fans are introduced to in the Season 3 installment of “The Originals.” Audiences will also get introduced to two new vampires, according to TVLine: Lucien and Aurora.

Lucien has been said to be a handsome and “calculating” vamp that has a vendetta against the Mikaelson clan. (Welcome to the Mikaelson-hating club, Lucien.) Aurora, who also happens to be easy on the eyes, will have temperamental issues and a serious dark side. Looks like Will has his work cut out for him. Let’s just hope he has a stake in his back pocket in addition to a gun.

“The Originals” will return to the CW on Thursday nights this fall.
