Outback Steakhouse, a Tampa-based dining restaurant chain, launched a promotion Wednesday night, announcing its unprecedented giveaway of one million free steak dinners.

Dubbed The Great Aussie Steak Out, the campaign is launched to introduce Outback's new wood-fire grill and new menu offerings.

The introduction of our new wood-fire grill, in addition to our classic seasoned and seared cooking method provides our customers with more choice in how they'd like their steaks prepared. Additionally the wood-fire grill gives us a big platform to innovate new and exciting products, said Jeff Smith, president of Outback Steakhouse.

The free steak dinner includes one, six ounce Outback Special Sirloin Steak masterfully prepared on the new wood-fire grill, and a choice of one side dish.

During Outback's TV promotion, customers were invited to visit www.outbackfreesteaks.com for a chance to reserve one of the one million free Outback steak dinners.

Once you enter your personal information, the company will confirm your address with the US Postal Service. Your voucher for a free steak dinner will arrive in the mail within 4 weeks, according to the website.

Outback Steakhouse, found in 1988 in Tampa, Florida, has its steakhouses in over 1,200 locations in 22 countries throughout North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
