The role of Jack Randall’s brother in "Outlander" will be played by Laurence Dobiesz, according to a report. Meanwhile, another report states that actress Michele Belgrand-Hodgson has been cast as Madame Elise on the show.
According to a report by TheWrap, Dobiesz will be playing the role of Alex Randall. Unlike his brother Jack, the character is said to be “gentle, loving and kind.” The character is a curate and secretary for the Duke of Sandrigham, played by Simon Callow.
Dobiesz has been a cast member of movies like “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” and the 2014 movie “Testament of Youth.” He has also appeared in the TV series “The Bill” and will next be seen in the TV movie “Distinguished Ladies.”
Another new cast member who will be joining the TV series is Belgrand-Hodgson. According to the profile page of the actress in CastingCallPro, she has been selected to play the role of Madame Elise in the TV series. The actress is a cast member in the TV series “Venus vs. Mars” and the TV movie “Lilly.” She will next be seen in the movie “Rough Cut.”
“Outlander” Season 2 will continue in France with three main characters Jamie Fraser [Sam Heughan], Claire [Caitriona Balfe] and Murtagh Fraser [Duncan Lacroix] travelling there to escape the British soldiers, especially Jack Randall. Filming for the next Season is currently underway in Scotland.
Executive producer of the show Ron Moore previously told Zap2it that the production crew will not be traveling to France to film the scenes. Instead, they were looking for a site that can be used as the streets of 1745 Paris in Eastern Europe and south of England because Paris today is very different than what it used to be.
Diana Gabaldon, the author of the book series on which the TV series is based on, said in the report that she was “deeply impressed” by the outlines of the script that she had seen. “Outlander” Season 2 will be based on the book “Dragonfly in Amber” and the premiere episode of the Season is expected to air by early 2016.
