“Outlander” Season 2 brought Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) to France in the last episode, where they’ll quickly meet the right people. In episode 2, the couple will encounter plenty of powerful characters, like Prince Charles (Andrew Gower), who might be helpful. However, stopping the Jacobite rebellion won’t be that simple.

“Life in Paris is not without its trials as Jamie struggles to triumph over the traumas of his past,” the synopsis reveals. Jamie is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder in the Starz drama. Episode 2, titled “Not in Scotland Anymore,” will explore how Black Jack’s (Tobias Menzies) abuse still affects him and even how it affects his relationship with Claire.

Jamie can’t stop working to deal with his mental health, though. He has to change history, and that means talking to certain powerful people. “A fortunate meeting with Jacobite leader Prince Charles presents opportunities, while the Duke of Sandringham’s [Simon Callow] presence brings complications,” the synopsis reveals.

Book readers know that Claire might not be thrilled with where Jamie has to go to meet with Prince Charles. However, she’ll be much more upset when she runs into the Duke of Sandringham. The last time he saw the couple on “Outlander,” he convinced Jamie to fight in a duel with him in exchange for getting the Highlander pardoned. However, the Duke isn’t very trustworthy. He sat there and watched as Jamie took on several men and was stabbed. He never helped Jamie get pardoned in exchange for his services either, and the couple haven’t forgotten his betrayal.

It’s not all drama in this episode, though. As seen in the video above, Claire befriends Louise de Rohan (Claire Sermonne), and she’ll provide some much-needed comic relief. The woman will introduce Claire to some rather provocative French practices.

“Outlander” Season 2, episode 2 airs Saturday, April 16, at 9 p.m. ET on Starz.
