The wrestling world’s most controversial couple is getting married. Alberto Del Rio and Paige got engaged during a wrestling event in Puerto Rico on Sunday night, though it wasn’t the former WWE World Champion that popped the question.

After Del Rio had a match for the wrestling promotion WWC, Paige entered the ring and got down on one knee. Del Rio accepted the proposal in front of the live audience.

“I don’t think he saw it coming,” Paige told a local reporter after the show.

The engagement comes just five months after Del Rio and Paige began publicly dating. In the summer, Pro Wrestling Sheet reported that Del Rio was in the midst of a nasty divorce with his wife, who claimed their relationship ended because the former WWE wrestler cheated on her.

Once two of the biggest names in WWE, neither Del Rio or Paige is currently wrestling for the company. Del Rio asked for his release in September, and he’s currently wrestling on the independent circuit under the name “Alberto El Patron” while also serving as the president of the MMA promotion Combate Americas as “Alberto El Presidente Rodriguez.” Paige is still signed to WWE, but she is serving her second suspension in the last two months and hasn’t had a match since June.

Del Rio, 39, is 15 years older than Paige, and there have been rumors that WWE has been trying to break them up. Paige’s father, English professional wrestler Ricky Knight, said on Facebook that he doesn’t approve of the engagement.

When Del Rio and Paige tie the knot, they’ll join a few other prominent wrestling couples that have gotten married in recent years. Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella had their wedding in 2014, just a few months before CM Punk and AJ Lee got married.
