Pakistan Agriculture Minister Nazar Muhammad said that Pakistan is intending to export 4million tons of rice during this year as the nation's production of rice is more than what is needed for domestic consumption; noteworthy that rice production in 2009 reached 6.3 million tons which is 4.3% more than domestic demand. Nazar added that the government will keep purchasing wheat from farmers at 950 rupees for 40 kilograms.
