Greek Prime Minister Lucas Papademos will face a vote of confidence in the Parliament later in the day to give the newly appointed premier a three-month mandate to implement the budget measures required for approving a second bailout for Greece.

Papademos is seeking to secure the next tranche of last year's 110-billion euro bailout, which was halted by Germany and France when Papndreou called for referendum on the second rescue package for Greece, before mid December to avert relapsing into bankruptcy.
