In the latest underage sex scandal, Patrick Lott, a middle school educator in Somerset County, NJ, has been accused of videotaping nude high school boys showering.

Lott, 54, was arrested last week after authorities found in his home videotapes of the nude boys, reported NJ.com.

In all, 22 victims were taped, including nine boys who are currently under the age of 16, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office, reported The Associated Press.

Lott allegedly installed a hidden camera in the communal shower area of Immaculata High School, at which Lott volunteered, starting from January 2008. He taped the boys for nearly three years, according to authorities, reported The AP.

Prosecutors were first alerted of Lott by Immaculata officials on allegations of inappropriate conduct, according to church officials associated with the Catholic high school.

Lott's home was then searched on Dec. 13 and Dec. 16.

Lott is an assistant middle school principal at Bernardsville Middle School, according to NJ.com. Active in the local Republican Party, he ran for a Somerset County freeholder seat about 20 years ago. More recently, he ran for a Somerville council seat.

The AP reported Lott served as the chairman of the Somerville Republican Committee. He is being charged with 22 counts of invasion of privacy and multiple counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
