Actor Paul Walker’s father, Paul Walker III, spoke candidly about his son, who tragically died in a car accident in Los Angeles on Saturday. The “Fast & Furious” star was loved by many and his father put it into words when he spoke to a local news station about Walker’s sudden passing.

"I'm just glad that every time I saw him, I told him I loved him," Walker told CBS2 a day after his son died, fighting to hold back tears. "And he would say the same thing to me."

Friends of the family gathered around the Walker home, where the actor grew up in Sunland, and tried to console the celebrity’s loved ones. “You can’t beat friends at a time like this,” said Walker Sr. “His brothers are all taking it pretty hard.”

Walker IV leaves behind a 15-year-old daughter, Meadow Rain Walker. The teen spent most of her life growing up in Hawaii, but had just moved to California to be closer with her father. The actor also wanted to spend more time with his daughter and was conflicted about filming another movie.

“[He told me] I want to take a hiatus, she’s just 15 and I don’t have much more time to be with her and then boom, he got another movie. He would say, ‘I don’t know what to do.’”

Walker’s career started long before many got a glimpse of him in 2001’s “Fast and the Furious.” According to his father, his mother had him do Pampers commercials when he was a baby.

In addition to his daughter and father, his mother, Cheryl Walker; his brothers, Cody and Caleb; and his sister Ashley survive Walker.

"His heart was so big," Walker Sr. said through his tears. "I was proud of him every day of his life."
