Simon Cowell is working hard to finalize all the details of his upcoming show The X Factor.

According to People.com Simon Cowell is reportedly recruiting his former colleague Paula Abdul as a judge on his upcoming singing competition show. Both were also judges on American Idol.

I missed her the second she left [Idol], Cowell sold Deadline.com. Always loved working with her, even though she can be a pain.

To complete the list of judges, Cowell has chosen Antonio L.A. Reid, former chairman of Island Def Jam Music Group, and English singer Cheryl Cole. Cole was also a former judge on the British version of The X Factor. According to the report, the deals are not yet finalized for Abdul and Cole.

51-year-old Cowell called Reid his No. 1 choice to sit alongside me on the show. About Cole, he said, I thought she was bright, cute, knew what she was talking about when he offered her the job.

Cowell hopes that some friction and differences will exist among the judges.

There should be tension to a point, he said. I like the Idol panel when we first started. We had different opinions, and I think it's important you have different opinions.
