After hearing about her not returning to American Idol, two rival shows have already offered Paula Abdul new opportunities.

According to the Associated Press, ABC Entertainment President Steve McPherson said Saturday he called her right after he heard about her exit from Fox's American Idol to say she'd be welcome anytime on ABC's Dancing with the Stars.

He said the show could use her sensitivity and a kind of emotion to her that balances out 'Idol.' McPherson had also reportedly dated Abdul years ago.

Meanwhile, BBC News reports that FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance, is another opportunity for Abdul. The show’s producer, Nigel Lythgoe, met with her to talk about possibly appearing as a guest judge or choreographer. He said it was too soon to make a final decision until the new season of “Idol” airs.

Abdul said she will not be returning as a judge on Idol because contract negotiations did not offer her as large enough a pay rise as she expected, Reuters reports.

Idol has already scheduled guest judges including Victoria Posh Spice Beckham and Katy Perry to fill in for Abdul while they continue to search for a permanent judge.
