Robin Thicke and Paula Patton announced their decision to separate just days ago, causing paparazzi to try and follow their every move. This reportedly led to the car carrying their son Julian, 3, being in a minor accident on Thursday in Los Angeles.

Entertainment Tonight reports the incident occurred while Patton’s mother and assistant were with Julian in the actress’ black Range Rover. No further details have emerged yet.

Meanwhile, Thicke seems to be the reason his marriage to Patton crumbled, but he is not giving up just yet. After nine years of marriage, the couple announced their decision to split on Monday. “We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time," they said in a joint statement to People magazine. But it seems it was not mutual at all. At his most recent concert in Virgina, Thicke dedicated one of his love songs, “Lost Without U,” to Patton, telling the audience, “For y'all that don't know me and my wife separated, but I'm trying to get my girl back. She's a good woman.”

Ever since his raunchy VMA performance with Miley Cyrus last year, Thicke has dealt with marriage controversy. Shortly after, Thicke was thought to have crossed the line with a young female, after a picture surfaced on the Internet showing the 36-year-old crooner grabbing college student Lana Scolaro's butt while smiling.

The blonde had a short dress on, and Thicke’s hand is clearly shown going beneath her skirt. Scolaro even has her head on Thicke’s shoulder and her arms around him. Then just last month, the singer got a bit too close for comfort to a beautiful curly-haired woman while performing at a Paris nightclub.

The unidentified woman cozied up to the R&B crooner after his performance at Club 79. At one point, pictures were taken of her putting her arms around Thicke’s neck and whispering in his ear.

Paula Patton and singer Thicke married in 2005 after dating throughout their teenage years.
