The US Department of Defense (DOD) has announced that the military is ready to use physical attacks in response to cyber threats, a report on Computer World said.

The agency, previously in the news for preparing cyber-warfare strategies, said the country is prepared to defend national security by any means possible.

It added that the agency’s cyberspace operations will fully commence next month but the country will not step back from using physical means to protect the country from any cyber attack that may prove to be a threat for the country.

The announcement is in line with what President Obama presented in his document about cyberspace threats in Early May. The document clearly stated the country will respond to any acts of cyberspace hostility and would treat it as any other threat to the country.

The document also said the country will calculate the costs and risks of action and will take any step to strengthen the legitimacy of the country’s values.
