People's Choice Awards 2012: Where to Watch, What to Expect

The 2012 People's Choice Awards countdown has begun, with only hours to go before the stars start walking on the red carpet. The show will be aired live on CBS at 9:00 pm (EST.)

People's Choice is one of the most popular award ceremonies as it give fans direct control of the voting allowing them to identify their favorite stars in TV, movies, music and popularity categories, without the interference of external judges.

The 2012 People's Choice Awards will be hosted by Big Bang Theory Star, Kaley Cuoco, with performances from Faith Hill and Demi Lovato. Kate Perry-voted for Favorite Pop Artist-- may have cancelled her appearance at the last minute following her spilt from Russell Brand, but many stars are expected at the awards including Twilight actor, Robert Pattinson.

PeoplesChoice.com has logged over 230,000,000 votes so far, according to CBS, and while voting on most categories has ended, fans will still be allowed to vote for Favorite new TV Comedy and Favorite New TV Drama.

Comedy nominations include: 2 Broke Girls, Last Man Standing, New Girl, Suburgatory, and Up All Night. Drama nominees are Once Upon A Time, Person of Interest, Revenge, The Secret Circle, and Terra Nova.

Guests will start to arrive on the red carpet at 7.30 pm ( EST.) Here's where you can watch the live stream: Ustream. Stars expected on the red carpet, according to USA Today, include: Gwyneth Paltrow, Kristin Chenoweth, Gene Simmons, Kim Kardashian, Natalie Portman, Cameron Diaz, Daniel Radcliffe, Tom Felton, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, George Clooney, Harrison Ford, Ellen DeGeneres, Taylor Lautner, Shia LaBeouf, Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds.

The big winners for the People's Choice Awards in 2011 were, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, which took home four awards including: Favorite Movie, Favorite Drama Movie, Favorite Movie Actress ( Kristen Stewart) and Favorite on-screen team including Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and TaylorLautner. Rob Pattinson is one of the favorites to win again this year.
