Mobile phone operator Amena said on Wednesday it had reached a deal with The Phone House for the British firm to sell virtual mobile phone services in Spain.

It's the first virtual deal for a mobile phone operator in Spain, said Belarmino Garcia, Amena's managing director, at a telecommunications seminar in the northern Spanish city of Santander.

Garcia declined to reveal financial details.

Amena, which belongs to France Telecom, is Spain's third-largest mobile phone operator and has 9 million clients.

The Phone House is controlled by Carphone Warehouse and has shops all over Spain.

Amena is also in advanced talks for a similar deal with supermarket Carrefour for its Spanish shops.
