Lindsay Lohan was back in court Thursday to reject a plea agreement offered by prosecutors in a grand theft case. The plea would have guaranteed Lohan's return to jail.

The Mean Girls actress told judges at the Airport Courthouse in Los Angeles that she agreed to delay her case until a preliminary hearing when prosecutors will present evidence against her. The preliminary hearing has been set for April 22.

Judge Keith Schwartz warned the 24-year-old actress that if she stands trial she may be sent to prison for violating her probation on a 2007 drunken driving case. Lohan can appear in court March 23 if she chooses to plead guilty or no contest to the charge.

The actress is accused of stealing a $2,500 necklace from a Venice beach jewelry store. Just a few days ago surveillance footage was aired of Lohan trying on the necklace at Kamofie & Co. Here are photos from Lindsay Lohan's latest appearance in court.
