William and Kate have just ended their whirlwind weekend visit of Los Angeles. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived Friday afternoon at Los Angeles International Airport, where they were greeted by California Gov. Jerry Brown and his wife Anne Gust and British Ambassador Sir Nigel Elton Sheinwald.

Their first stop was an evening business event at the Beverly Hilton Hotel supporting UK trade and investment.

Later they met California politicians and other high-profile figures at a reception hosted by British Consul-General Dame Barbara Hay at her Hancock Park residence.

The couple also attended a red carpet, black-tie British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) dinner at L.A.'s Belasco Theatre. Prince William, who is also the president of BAFTA, gave a speech at the gala, focusing on spotlighting emerging British talent and building partnerships between Hollywood and up-and-coming British actors.

On Saturday, Prince William played in a charity polo match at the Santa Barbara Polo Club to benefit the American Friends of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry, while Kate gave out the prizes.

On their last day of the visit, the Duke and Duchess did more philanthropic work, such as an event to support Tusk US, an organization that raises funds for African wildlife.
