The No.1 tennis player in the world made a major announcement about his life away from the court. Novak Djokovic took to Twitter to let his fans know that he is now engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Jelena Ristic.

“Meet my fiancé and future wife :),” tweeted Djokovic, along with a picture of the couple. “So happy! Thank you for wonderful wishes #NoleFame and friends!”

The two have been dating since 2005 and knew each other for two years before they became an item. Both Djokovic and Ristic are Serbian, and they first met in high school. Ristic can often be seen cheering her fiancée on from the stands.

Ristic is one year older than the 26-year-old Djokovic. She went to college at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. She reportedly has a PhD in management

Djokovic landed atop the tennis world when he first took hold of the No.1 ranking in July 2011. He was dominant that year, winning three of the four major tournaments. A semifinal finish at the French Open was his only slip up in an astounding run of success.

In 2013, Djokovic’s one Grand Slam victory came at the Australian Open. He reached the finals at Wimbledon and the U.S. Open, but came up short to Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal. Djokovic has won the Australian Open four out of the last six years, to go along with one U.S. Open and one Wimbledon title.
