Pippa Middleton isn’t settling down just yet. The younger sister of Kate Middleton has reportedly broken up with longtime boyfriend Nico Jackson after dating for about three years.

The news comes just a few weeks after the couple seemed very affectionate during a night out. However, it appears their living situation is to blame for the split. The two reportedly broke up because they could no longer handle a long distance relationship. Jackson, 37, moved to Geneva in 2014 for work, but Middleton, 32, stayed in England.

“It was mostly due to geographical issues,” a source revealed to Us Weekly. “They were rarely together since his move [to Switzerland] and it just caused too much strain on their relationship. They still love and respect each other.”

In addition to the distance, their jobs also kept them quite busy. “Long-distance didn't work, especially with how busy Pippa was,” E! Online’s source said. “A lot of their problems stemmed from the fact she was always busy working—as was he—and they never had time for one another.”

Jackson is a stockbroker while Middleton is a contributing writer for several different publications, including Vanity Fair. E! Online also reports that the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister is retraining to be a nutritionist.

While their breakup has ended their romantic relationship, the two may remain friends. Middleton has been known to keep in touch with her exes. In September, she and Jackson were on a team with her ex-boyfriend James Matthews for the Otillo Race, a 47-mile swimming and running competition. People reports that Middleton and Matthews are just “good friends.” A couple weeks later, Middleton was spotted having lunch with another ex-boyfriend, Alex Loudon. If this pattern continues, she’ll likely keep in touch with Jackson, despite their breakup.
