Pippa Middleton is in hot water after promoting pricey breakfast foods for underprivileged kids.

Middleton has been working with the charity Magic Breakfast, which aims to help struggling parents provide good breakfast meals for their kids. In her recent interview, Kate Middleton's sister shared what they have for breakfast and even recommended a meal for struggling families. Middleton recommended her avocado tortilla recipe for breakfast, Daily Mail reported.

However, Middleton's suggestion was criticized due to its price. Her recipe includes olive oil and fresh avocados which are too expensive for families on the poverty line. A number took to Twitter to air their frustration for the socialite.

"Celebrity charity endorsements can work, but this is terrible. Royal sister Pippa Middleton promoting breakfasts for poor kids with her avocado tortilla recipe," Tom Parry wrote while including a photo of Pippa's printed interview.

According to Daily Mail, the critics were more concerned about the price than the time of preparation. Avocado is considered one of the most expensive fruits in the supermarket. In fact, two ripe avocados will cost one £2 ($2.71).

"Avocado? Tortilla? For kids who didn't get breakfast? How silly can people be. I think baked beans or tinned tomatoes might be more popular, have good nutrition and cost a lot less and be easier to prepare," one woman commented.

Meanwhile, Kevin White was glad that Magic Breakfast is helping provide breakfasts for children. However, he felt that "the effect is somewhat spoilt by publishing a recipe for Pippa Middleton's breakfast favourite of Egg and Avocado Tortilla."

Many also criticize Pippa's memorable breakfast. "Up a mountain in the Trois Vallées ski region of France, with beautiful views, snow all around and crisp, fresh air to heighten the senses," she responded when asked about her most unforgettable morning meal. "I'm sure those kids are right there with you..." one responded with sarcasm.

On the same interview, Pippa confessed that she does not eat pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. However, she recommended "Bircher muesli with fresh berries on top," for a quick and healthy breakfast.

Pippa and Kate initially planned to get pregnant at the same time. In September, the palace announced that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting their royal baby. Meanwhile, there are rumors that Pippa is pregnant with her first child, but she has not confirmed it.
