Alfie Boe at New York's Joe's Pub. IBT

See the full interview with Alfie here.

Alfie Boe was working as a mechanic when a customer said he should be a singer. With that, he entered the music industry and trained as a classical tenor. He has sent two albums into England’s Top 10, has sung for the Queen and has a Tony under his belt.

But Boe, a platinum-selling recording artist, is anything but your average opera singer: The English Tenor sat down with IBTimesTV to discuss what he wants to change about the opera world. Boe also spoke candidly about his desire to bring classical music to the masses, but doing it wearing jeans.

Boe revealed to IBTimesTV what challenged and intimidated him about his new album “Storyteller” before he showcased a 45- minute performance to an excited and intimate crowd at the iconic Joe’s Pub in New York.

Alfie’s second television concert special, “Alfie Boe - Storyteller At The Royal Albert Hall,” is currently airing on PBS stations nationwide (check local listings).
