Enigami's Hazem Hawash is proud to present the French indie studio new RPG, titled “Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom,” that is slated to be released this year. Debuting its trailer at Gamescom 2016 today, Enigami and Focus Home Interactive’s upcoming video game features an original storyline and made-up language.

On the official PlayStation blog, Hawash stated that “Shiness” is an RPG with dynamic fighting game-inspired combat. By the looks of its Gamescom trailer, this video game is going to deliver in terms catchy art style, minimalist yet striking character designs and a solid plot that brings something new though its an eclectic mix of familiar elements.

"Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom” has five different and original characters, but the storyline focuses on a young Waki named Chado. The official overview of the video game presents Chado as the protagonist who encounters a mysterious spirit (Shiness) named Terra. The latter is the one to open the former’s eyes to his destiny of journeying to find the mythical Land of Life, a place located on a space island called Meteora.

When Chado embarks with four of his friends to locate the Land of Life, they will get involved in a war between two nations and a manhunt for two fugitives. Though these two events may appear to be unrelated, they actually have a mysterious connection that will unlock some secrets about Chado’s destiny.

So far, what we know about its gameplay is that all five characters have distinct skills and abilities they can harness during battles and in solving puzzles. Each character can learn new powers by engaging in 1-versus-1 duels that typically make use of elemental magic.

The official description of the game from its YouTube-uploaded Gamescom trailer reads:

“After a fateful meeting with a mysterious being called Terra, a spirit that only he can see, Chado is given a mission to find the ‘Land of Life.’ Hidden in this land are the secrets of Shi, the magic that governs the world. In Chado’s way, a brutal war erupts from two sister-kingdoms, Adorya and Adorn, leaving the shattered world of Mahera in the middle of a power-struggle. But are things really as they seem? Conspiracies and the dastardly forces of evil await Chado and his new allies. Your decisions will determine the destiny of the planet and the outcome of the war.”

According to Gematsu, “Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom” is set to arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC at the end of 2016.
