Sony announced a "PlayStation Tournaments" feature for PlayStation 4 on Thursday. PS4 players will now be able to find and participate in ESL competitions using the PlayStation App or ESL Play.

“Once tournaments are live, you can find them under Events on your PS4 system menu to view the details. Once you have signed up for a tournament, your PS4 will automatically prompt you when it is time to play your matches,” Sony said in a press release.

The first Major PS4 tournament will come to the NBA 2K17 game and run from Oct. 27 to Nov. 26. Participants will need a copy of NBA 2K17, PlayStation Plus membership and a link to an ESL account. The top three winners will a get a prize pack with items such as a DualShock 4 and PlayStation gear.

Once a tournament is live, PS4 will automatically prompt the players when it is time to play their matches.

Live tournaments will be included under the events tab on PS4 dashboard. Currently ESL games' one-on-one tournaments such as Mortal Kombat X, WRC 5, Project Cars and NBA2K17 are supported. Existing ESL users can log into their accounts while new users will have to create an ESL account and link their PSN ID to it.

PlayStation Tournaments users can also play multiplayer games including EA Sports FIFA 17 and PlayStation Plus monthly games Smash and Tricky Towers.
