PNC Bank Arts Center Shooting: At Least 2 People Shot Where Hip-Hop Stars J. Cole, Big Sean, Were Performing
Several shots were fired at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey, late Monday, where hip-hop star J. Cole, along with recording artist Big Sean, rapper YG and record producer Jeremih were performing. Two people were wounded in the incident, CBS New York reported, citing police.
The injured were reportedly taken for treatment via Medevac helicopter but their condition was unclear. State police reportedly said that the shooter escaped into the surrounding woods. The shooting began after an argument broke out in the theater's parking lot, the Associated Press reported, citing a witness.
The venue is about 54 miles east of Trenton and about 45 miles south of New York City, and a search operation for the shooter was underway early Tuesday, authorities reportedly said.
The incident took place at the parking lot of the theater after the concert, several witnesses reported, while some reports stated that the shootings took place during the concert.
Late Monday, PNC Bank Arts Center, which has a seating capacity of 17,500 with a lawn area that can accommodate another 10,500 people, wrote on its Twitter account that J. Cole's concert was sold out.
