Looks like Niantic Labs has something big in store for “Pokémon GO” players who decided to stick with the game despite reports that many have quit from religiously catching Pokémon and using the famous mobile app. A new report claims that for Halloween, there is going to be a big event that Trainers should watch out for.

PhoneArena reports that a secret event is in the works as of this time, and it is bound to go live on Oct. 31. The event is said to not only take place on Halloween because it is expected to last for a couple of days. The tech site has come up with this assumption based on a cryptic message that Niantic shared on the app’s Facebook page recently.

“With Halloween around the corner, we anticipate Trainers may encounter more Pokémon in the real world. The AR camera is a great way to capture and share these encounters with your friends,” the cryptic message reads.

Niantic did not specifically mention that there is going to be a Halloween event, but PhoneArena is firmly claiming that unique Pokémon are going to debut on the day of Halloween, so players can enjoy looking for them and catching them with friends. The tech site also says this feature could have already been included in the recently rolled out “Pokémon GO” update to the iOS and Android platforms that added the catch bonus feature and the Gym training enhancements.

However, it’s also possible that this will roll out with the new update, which Heavy reports is launching worldwide within the next day or two. Nevertheless, it is important to note that Heavy did not mention anything about the Halloween update. Instead, the site points out that version 1.13.3 for iOS and 0.43.3 for Android have began rolling out.

Citing what Niantic posted on its “Pokémon GO” site this Sunday, Heavy says the upcoming versions of the mobile app will modify the Eggs by giving them different patterns based on the distance required for them to hatch. Since the game was launched, the Eggs were indistinguishable due to their similar physical design. Thus, this feature will make it easier for Trainers to spot right away how many kilometers is needed for a certain Egg depending on its unique pattern.

In its blog post, Niantic also indicated that the new update will add Pokémon type icons on the information screen of each Pokémon. It is also adding a low battery indicator for the Pokémon GO Plus. And lastly, Niantic specified that the update comes with minor text fixes.
