RTTNews - Tuesday, Poland's Central Statistical Office announced that the average gross wages and salaries increased 4.8% year-over-year in April, slower than the 5.7% increase in March. Economists had expected the growth to slow to 4.5%.

On a monthly basis, gross wages and salaries declined 1.1% in April, compared with a 4.3% increase in the previous month.

For the January to April period, average gross wages and salaries grew 5.9% compared to the same period of the previous year.

The statistical office said average monthly gross wage and salary in enterprise sector was PLN 3294.76 in April.
