Portland police arrested a man accused of “karate-kicking” a police horse on Wednesday night.

29-year-old Joseph Cruz ran up to the horse, “issued a karate-like battle cry, and delivered a jumping, double-kick to Olin's right thigh,” according to Portland Police.

Neither Cruz or Olin, the horse in question, was hurt. Olin and his Mounted Patrol Unit partner were talking to a group of people in the Old Town area of the city when Cruz attacked. Olin shrugged off the attack and Cruz was promptly arrested following the ordeal.

Portland Police posted a photo of Olin napping on the job to let everyone know he’s doing fine.

Cruz had a previous arrest warrant and is now charged with interfering with a law enforcement animal, which can carry jail time and a mandatory $500 fine.
