RTTNews - Friday, the Statistics Portugal announced that the consumer price index or CPI dropped 1.2% year-over-year in May, after falling 0.5% in April. A year earlier, the CPI was up 2.8%.

On a monthly basis, the CPI decreased 0.2% in May, in contrast to a 0.2% increase in the previous month. A year ago, the CPI was up 0.4%.

The harmonized index of consumer prices or HICP declined 1.2% annually in May, after falling 0.6% in April. Month-on-month, the HICP was down 0.2%.
