RTTNews - Tuesday, a report by Statistics Portugal said industrial output fell 7.9% year-on-year in May, slower than a 9.9% fall in the previous month.

On an annual basis, mining and quarrying output dipped 7.5% compared to a 1.9% decline in April. Manufacturing output was down 10.1% compared to a 13.3% fall last month. However, production of utilities rose 5.4%, slower than a 10.8% rise in the preceding month.

On a monthly basis, industrial output dropped 0.6% in May, after remaining flat in April.
