BOSTON, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/16/10 -- PhUSE, a non-profit life science organization whose aim is to connect the views of individuals into one voice for the benefit of the clinical research industry, is excited to host the first US-based Single Day Event (SDE) to be held in Boston, MA on September 28th, 2010 at the New England Research and Development Center.

This "Single Day Event" provides a hands-on approach for professionals who get involved in the analysis and reporting of clinical trial data. Participants will have the opportunity to intimately interact with colleagues, learn about compelling topics that affect the life science industry, and network with peers.

While most conferences concentrate on the speakers, PhUSE emphasizes conversation. Ample time will be given for questions and discussion after each presentation. PhUSE SDE will focus on the "Implementation of Standards in the Life Science Industry." We have assembled excellent speakers to guide us through the tangled web of standards implementation. Our interpretation of standards implementation reaches beyond data standards (CDISC) to include new technologies and processes used to help accelerate clinical data analysis.

A broad range of individuals will present including the FDA, Biotech, Pharmaceutical, CRO, and Technology companies. The day will kick off with two presentations by FDA Statistical Reviewers: Dr. Stephen Wilson, Director of the Division of Biometrics III at CDER and Dr. Mat Soukup, Acting Team Lead for the Safety Division within the Office of Biostatistics at CDER. Dr. Wilson and Dr. Soukup have been exemplary advocates of industry wide standards implementation, adoption, and collaboration. Their presentation topics are "Realizing the Vision", "It's All About Standards" and "Conducting Statistical Reviews at FDA: Present State and Hopes of a Collaborative Future State."

The day will continue with a panel discussion and presentations on Statistical Computing Environments, Data Integration, and Company-wide Data Standards' Adoption.

There will be a complimentary lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
