The jungles of northern Laos will this coming December, play host to one of Southeast Asia's most interesting cinematic events as the Luang Prabang Film Festival takes place.

Luang Prabang, Laos, October 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The event is organised and managed by the Laos Government with the assistance of a number of corporate sponsors, including Lao Airlines and LBC, the Laos State Brewing Company which manufactures the country's famous Beerlao.

Luang Prabang is a popular tourist destination in its own right and regularly enjoys thousands of visitors from all over the world every year. This coming December the various Luang Prabang city centre hotels will be in higher demand than usual thanks to the film festival bringing additional people to town.

The film festival takes place from December 3rd to December 10th and attendees can look forward to enjoying the very best of Laotian cinema. Films being shown at this year's event include Little Heart, Adela, Bombhunters 2006, 18 Grams of Love, The Maid, Papadom and The Photograph.

The Luang Prabang Film Festival has a clearly defined mission behind it, which includes encouraging filmmakers in Southeast Asia to develop new movies, to boost the Laos film industry itself and to provide an event which benefits the local Luang Prabang economy.
