Ford Motor Co. (NYSE:F) shares advanced 3.28 percent to $16.05 in pre-market trading after reporting better-than-expected first quarter earnings. Profit was $2.6 billion or $0.61 per share, up from $2.1 billion or $0.50 per share in the same quarter last year. Revenue rose to $33.1 billion. Analysts expected a net profit of $0.50 per share on $30.5 billion revenue.

UBS AG (NYSE:UBS) shares rallied 6.7 percent to $19.92 in pre-market trading session after the Swiss banking company said the inflow of cash from wealthy clients had rebounded to its highest level since 2007, signaling improving confidence in its private-banking arm.

Illinois Tool Works Inc. (NYSE:ITW) shares surged 6.36 percent to $57.87 in pre-market trading session. The company reported first quarter net income of $1.24 per share compared to $0.66 per share in the year-ago quarter. Sales rose to $4.4 billion from $4.34 billion last year.

Delta Air Lines Inc. (NYSE:DAL) shares gained 2.11 percent to $9.19 in pre-market trading session. Its first quarter net loss widened to $318 million or $0.38 per share compared to $256 million or $0.31 per share in the same quarter last year, while analysts’ expected a net loss of $0.50 per share.

Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:CAT) shares gained 1.05 percent to $109.99 in pre-market trading session.

3M Co. (NYSE:MMM) shares advanced 1.2 percent to $95.25 in pre-market trading session. The company reported first quarter net income of $1.49 per share compared to $1.29 per share in the same quarter last year and against analysts’ estimation of $1.44 per share.

Boeing Co. (NYSE:BA) shares advanced 1.43 percent to $75.97 in pre-market trading session. The stock has a 52 week low of $59.48 and 52 week high of $76.00 and has $55.21 billion market capitalization.

Cummins Inc. (NYSE:CMI) shares gained 3.51 percent to $112.00 in pre-market trading session. Its first quarter net profit rose to $343 million or $1.75 per share compared to $149 million or $0.75 per share in the same period last year. Sales surged 56 percent to $3.9 billion, while analysts’ expected net profit of $1.44 per share on $3.61 billion sales.

AK Steel Holding Corp. (NYSE:AKS) shares advanced 1.57 percent to $16.19 in pre-market trading session.

Lexmark International Inc. (NYSE:LXK) shares plunged 11.2 percent to $34.00 in pre-market trading session as its first quarter earnings and second quarter earnings forecast fell short of expectations. Net profit declined to $83.3 million or $1.04 per share compared to $95.3 million or $1.20 per share in the same quarter last year. Revenue declined to $1.03 billion from $1.04 billion of last year, while analysts’ expected net income of $1.24 per share on revenues of $1.05 billion.

Lexmark expects second quarter earnings to be in the range of $0.89 to $0.99 per share or $1.00 to $1.10 per share, while analysts expected net income of $1.14 per share.

Coca-Cola Co. (NYSE:KO) shares declined 1.54 percent to $66.70 in pre-market trading session. The company reported first quarter net income of $1.90 billion or $0.82 per share compared to $1.61 billion or $0.69 per share in the same quarter last year. Revenue rose to $10.52 billion from $7.52 billion in the year-ago quarter, while analysts’ expected revenue of $10.54 billion for the first quarter.

Medco Health Solutions Inc. (NYSE:MHS) shares declined 2.85 percent to $56.34 in pre-market trading session. The company will report its first-quarter earnings before the opening bell on Thursday.
