(NYSE:CRM) shares surged 7.63 percent to $146.19 in pre- market trading session as the company reported better-than-expected first quarter earnings and raised its fiscal 2012 earnings guidance. The company reported first quarter net income of $39.9 million or $0.28 per share compared to 39.9 million or $0.30 per share in the same quarter a year-ago and against analysts’ estimation of $0.27 per share.

For fiscal 2012, the company expects earnings to be in the range of $1.30 to $1.32 per share on $2.15 billion to $2.17 billion revenue compared to its prior guidance of $1.24 to $1.27 per share on revenue of $2.075 billion to $2.1 billion revenue.
