Adjusted net income rose to $3.35 billion or $10.12 per share from $2.85 billion or $8.74 per share last year and also topped analysts' estimate of $10.04 per share.

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (CMG) stock slumped 14.07 percent to $347.05 in pre-market trading. The company reported the second quarter net profit of $81.7 million or $2.56 per share, up from $50.7 million or $1.59 per share in the same period a year ago.
