International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) stock surged 4.04 percent to $204.00 in pre-market trading. Its fourth quarter net profit rose to $5.8 billion or $5.13 per share from $5.5 billion or $4.62 per share in the same quarter last year. Adjusted net profit was $5.39 per share, up from $4.71 per share last year and also topped Reuters' estimation of $5.25 per share. The company also expects fiscal 2013 earnings to be at least $16.70 per share compared to analysts’ estimation of a net profit of $16.57 per share.

RF Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:RFMD) stock gained 2.04 percent to $4.99 in pre-market trading. Its third quarter net loss narrowed to $1.44 million or $0.01 per share from $9.39 million or $0.03 per share in the same quarter last year.
