U.S. President Obama meets Turkey's PM Erdogan at the White House in Washington

President Obama will hold a joint press conference with Prime Minister Erdogan of Turkey at noon from the White House on May 16. This comes after President Obama’s meeting with Prime Minister Erdogan to discuss diplomatic matters in the Middle East and the strategic relationship between the United States and Turkey.

Analysts speculate that the two will talk about matters regarding Syria and the possibility of their future involvement in the current conflict. The meeting comes as conflict in Syria and the Middle East region continues to cause economic, political, humanitarian, and military problems.
