President Barack Obama will hold a prime time press conference today at 8 p.m. EDT to push his vision for healthcare reform, which has run into opposition from Republicans and some conservative Democrats.

The cost of the reform is expected to be greater than $1 trillion and represents one of the President’s biggest challenges yet. Obama’s plan would put a government insurance plan in competition with private insurance to extend coverage to most uninsured Americans.
