Things only seem to be getting worse for Aria, Spencer, Hanna and Emily in season four of “Pretty Little Liars.” In episode five, “Gamma Zeta Die,” Hanna was caught by police with a gun in her possession. But a leaked synopsis for episode eight seems to have the blonde high school student cleared-- and her mom in custody.

Hanna

Desperate times call for desperate measures in episode eight, “The Guilty Girl’s Handbook.” With Ashley in jail (with a load of evidence against her), Hanna will turn to a friend for help-- but it’s not who you think. Instead of Spencer, Aria, Emily or Caleb, Hanna finds herself asking Mona to assist in a plan that could potentially save her mother from conviction. Unfortunately, Caleb doesn’t trust Mona and tries to convince Hanna to stay away from her, but Mona is bent on proving her loyalty to Hanna in “the most unexpected way.”

Spencer

Refusing to give up her investigation into “A” and Alison, Spencer will be returning to “an old haunt to investigate new evidence relating to Wilden.” As it turns out, the deceased detective has “surprising” ties to another mysterious death that rocked Rosewood. Could it be Alison’s?

Emily

Still struggling with her parents, Emily finds things aren’t getting any easier – especially with “A’s” manipulations. Thanks to police and protective services' involvement, Emily and her mom’s relationship has become strained, and Emily looks for an escape by reconnecting with Zoe, a former boss (guest star Rumer Willis).

As we previously reported, Zoe is an organizer of a worldwide charity and the type of person who “will change the world and keep her sense of humor at the same time.”

Aria

Aria will find her new relationship with Jake in question when she relies on her martial arts instructor boyfriend to help her understand her brother Mike’s new attitude. The pair will find themselves confused when looking at the nature of their relationship.
